Paul Bond's music is greatly inspired by Hemingway’s philosophy and artistic vision: his music reminds listeners of white crests on the waves, the smell of burnt leather, and the crushing of shoes on a mountain path. Bond’s piano style transports you to a place where a lonely pianist churns out a final tune for the night. Bond's English Literary MA degree resulted in an obsession with text and literature, but besides this, any listener will acknowledge Bonds preoccupation with writing solid pop songs, melodies that are compact and memorable.

Bond started his band Dandelion in 2014, for which he wrote all the songs and lyrics. They went on to release an acclaimed debut album Everest (2016). Their second album, titled Laika, Belka, Strelka (2019), was praised for its unique style — which Dandelion termed country funk — and its conceptual approach and theme: the Russian space dogs of the ‘50s and ‘60s. Important sources of inspiration are Randy Newman, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Ezra Pound. As a session musician, Bond also plays piano and organ for the Dutch bands VanWyck, AlascA, Yorick van Norden, and Judy Blank, and tours through the Netherlands with the formation Strange Brew.

Een grote bron van inspiratie voor Paul Bond is de filosofische en artistieke visie van de Engelse schrijver Ernest Hemingway. Bond's muziek doet je denken aan kolkend water in de branding, de geur van verbrand leer, en krakende kiezels op een bergpad. Bond neemt je mee naar een plek waar een eenzame pianist het laatste nummer van de avond speelt. Bond studeerde Engelse literatuur en heeft een obsessie met tekst en literatuur, wat je zeker kunt merken aan zijn teksten. Hij is altijd druk in de weer om pophit na pophit te schrijven, met melodieën die compact zijn maar de luisteraar terdege bijblijven.

Paul Bond richtte in 2014 de band Dandelion op, waarvoor hij zowel de teksten als de muziek schreef.
