Are you ready for a new edition of Quiet is the New Loud??

Nina Bearfoot is a French singer-songwriter based in Amsterdam, who just released her first solo album together with producer Sean Gascoigne. Her music sits between indie and folk with a rock twist, always in the middle, never in the right place. The atmosphere is bright and tormented, and irony is the glue that sometimes holds these dimensions together. Her songs are made of contrasts (failures and successes, affection and rejection, happiness and sadness, calm and anger), those that are necessary hesitations to define an identity: they tell a story of the steps one takes to understand what they want. 🧚‍♀️📖

The debut album “Geen LP” by the originally German artist was released in March 2023 on the Arnhem-based label Brighter Records (home to artists like Jellephant, Christopher Walkman, The Garnals). It was recorded and produced by Stefan Kollee at Gritty Cat Studios. The album is a collection of überhaupt’s early years from 2016 to 2021, exploring dark alleyways of thought, people made of Styrofoam, the pain of repetition, regret, control, change, and the beauty of making mistakes and getting confused.
A good story is complicated enough, which is why überhaupt keeps it simple on the album: one voice, one (semi-)acoustic guitar, and only occasionally carefully chosen extras (glockenspiel, shower door, Styrofoam, mellotron, father’s blues harp).

Currently, überhaupt is working on new songs and a new live show, where he performs not solo but with a drummer (and partly a second guitarist) to bring out the abrasive, loud core of his songs. 💥

Quiet is the New Loud! is een intieme concertavond voor liefhebbers van subtiele, akoestische muziek. De rustige sfeer van de bblthk vormt de perfecte plek om met volle aandacht te luisteren naar singer-songwriters en bands.

Deze reeks bestaat al sinds 2011 en heeft inmiddels een vaste plek in Wageningen. Wat de avonden bijzonder maakt, is de aandachtige sfeer: het publiek luistert in stilte en geeft alle ruimte aan de muziek.

This series has been running since 2011 and has since become a fixture in Wageningen. What makes these evenings special is the attentive atmosphere: the audience listens in silence, giving the music center stage.
